Asbestos Testing

Asbestos testing is used to confirm the presence of asbestos in bulk materials and is often required to be carried out ahead of investigation works or in response to accidental disturbance of suspected asbestos containing materials.

Testing for hazardous materials including asbestos

Delivering quality and efficiency as standard, we can either attend your site and take samples of the suspected asbestos material for you, or you can take and send samples directly to us at our state of the art UK laboratory, which is the largest UKAS ISO 17025 accredited asbestos testing laboratory in Europe.

Our laboratory is operational 7 days a week, 16 hours per day, and has the capability of processing up to 6,000 samples per week. The lab is staffed by over 60 technicians and analysts and is fitted with 52 workstations and dedicated rest and kitchen areas.

The lab provides asbestos sample identification using polarised light microscopy (PLM), as well as scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) which provide a greater level of accuracy than the methods used by the majority of UK asbestos laboratories, and includes a stand-alone soils laboratory for the qualitative and quantitative identification of asbestos in soils.

As an internal resource, the lab provides assurances to our clients that we have the ability react and respond quickly to emergency testing requirements and deliver to fast timescales, whilst consistently maintaining quality control.
