Asbestos surveys are carried out to identify the presence of asbestos-containing materials in vessels and assets where the owner has a duty of care for the occupants.

Surveying for asbestos and other hazardous materials

More specifically, asbestos surveys are to be carried out to ensure regulatory compliance and ahead of refit works taking place or at end of lift and prior to vessel dismantling for recycling/disposal.

As one of the leading risk management consultancies in the marine sector, we have carried out over 800 surveys of various marine assets worldwide and have worked with many leading marine operators, including P&O Ferries, BW Offshore and Helix Well Ops.

Our resource is the largest directly employed risk management team in the UK and includes over 180 competent and qualified surveyors who are all trained under our UKAS ISO 17020 and ISO 17025 accredited technical procedures.

Delivering efficiency as standard, survey data is captured using our internally designed NexGen survey app and can be instantly shared data with our project and technical support teams back in the UK as soon as the survey is completed for processing through our systems workflow for delivery of the survey report.

We also have the largest UKAS ISO 17025 accredited asbestos testing laboratory in Europe which is operational 7 days a week and 16 hours per day, with the capability of processing up to 6,000 samples per week. As an internal resource, the laboratory provides assurances that we have the capacity to deliver projects in quick timescales, whilst consistently maintaining quality control.
